Dreams do come true.  I am going to Elko!

I am so excited and grateful for the opportunity to receive the Rod McQueary and Sue Wallis Scholarship this coming January.    I have been so blessed with so many amazing experiences and opportunities but this one is really special.

Colt Blankman Union Station Cowboy Christmas

Cowboy Christmas at Union Station

I was honored to be a part of the 1st annual Cowboy Christmas at Union Station this year.  Met some new friends and got to hang out with old ones.  I had a great time and really appreciate my friend for backing me up on a Christmas poem.  Thank you Chris Mortensen for always having my back!

Devotional Christmas Party at the Church Office Building in Salt Lake City, Utah

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  I was asked to be a part of a Christmas Devotional at the Church Office Bldg in Salt Lake last week.  For me this was a huge honor, not only to be asked, but to be able to share some Christmas Cowboy Poetry in front of  General Authority for my faith.  It was a wonderful experience to get to meet him and many other wonderful people that day.  Then we got to spend the rest of the day as a family and tour Temple Square.  It was a good reminder to Light the World this Christmas season.

Wayne Nelson Memorial Gatherin Fundraiser November 9-10 2018

I am always honored to be a part of this great gathering in Rupert, Idaho.  I love the members of the Cowboy Poets of Idaho and feel privileged to be a part of them.  There are many memories made and good times to be had at this gathering!
When I got to Rupert I was so excited to see a painting of my horse JJ and I done on a feather by Janette Gailey.  She is an amazing artist and I was lucky enough to be able to bring this treasure home.

Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering ~ September 2018

Got to attend a BBQ at the Durango Golf Club.  It sure was pretty.

What an honor to be invited to the 30th Anniversary Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering.  I had the best time and got to meet some pretty cool people.  Krysten Harris, Haley Sandos, Allora Leonard, and the High Country Cowboys to name a few.  It was a little overwhelming to be among such talent. This pic was taken outside of the really cool Strater Hotel.

Those that know me know that this right here is my happy place.

Super fun to get to be a part of the night skit with the other day show performers.  Thanks for including me!
It was awesome to get to be a part of the youth showcase hosted by Krysten Harris

Just a shot from one of the day shows!

Had some extra time and got to explore the pueblos.  It was amazing.  Got to crawl up, in, down, and through them.
It was also a thrill to see the Durango to Silverton train.  My dad and I listen to CW McCall and we love that song.  It was way cool to see it in person.  Hopefully someday I will get to ride it to Silverton!

Camp Floyd's Day of the Cowboy September 2018

Gotta love it when one of your pards is willing to back you up.  Thank you Scott Lambertson for backing me up!
Thank you Clay Shelley for a great venue and a wonderful opportunity!
Two of the best folks anywhere right here.  So lucky to call them my friends.  Scott Lamberston and Mark Seeley

Dakota Heritage Festival in Pierre, South Dakota

I have to say that having the opportunity to be a part of the Dakota Heritage Festival in Pierre, South Dakota has been one of the most awesome things I have ever done!  I loved South Dakota and the people were so amazing.  It was the opportunity of a life time and I have the best memories!  I can't thank them enough for the opportunity and kindness they showed me!

I had the opportunity to be in town a few days before the festival and perform at some local schools to help encourage other kids to write, perform, enjoy poetry.  Especially COWBOY poetry!

This is Mr. Gary Heintz.  He is the man that found me and invited me.  I have the greatest respect for him and will always be grateful for the opportunity he gave me.  He is a great man!

These are the Cowan's and I admire the heck out of them.  These guys are a ranch family and I mean to tell you they are the real deal!
I remember when I had just barely started and some of the CVCR entertainers came to my school when I was in third grade.  They excited me and encouraged me to keep going.  It is so cool that now I get to go into the schools and do the same thing.  After one of the school performances at a catholic school all the kids blessed us  and after another a young boy walked up to me and handed me this note.  It was way cool.

This was my first radio interview and it was awesome.  He played one of my poems from my CD and I performed one live.  He was so cool!

It was such an honor to get to meet some amazing poets and musicians.  Notice who is on stage with me...Yup that would be the awesome Miss Yvonne Hollenbeck!
My new pard, Gus in the middle and his father and Grandpa...poet and musician Robert Dennis

One of the best parts of any gathering or festival are the folks I get to meet and become friends with.  This is Milt.  I got to visit a lot with him and I hope I get to see him again some day!

Last day...last show.  It was a highlight of my life!  Thank you so much Dakota Western Heritage Festival!
